Mayor Jørgen Jensen was on hand yesterday to break the slightly frozen soil at the site of the old post office in Allerød north of Copenhagen. The plot had been cleared to make way for a new 1,200 sqm Netto supermarket, a 300 sqm chemist’s shop and 24 attractive residential units with large balconies and a shared roof terrace on top of the supermarket.
Årstiderne Arkitekter A/S are consulting architects on the project, Arne Elkjær A/S will be consulting engineers. Danish Construction Management is in charge the construction work under a design-and-build contract. In association with Innovater, the company will make every possible effort to have the retail space ready for occupancy as early as the end of 2016 (depending on the winter weather and any unforeseen challenges), while the residential units are expected to be ready in early 2017.
